Clipper Returns 9th – 17th July 2016

Really looking forward to the Clipper race returning to Derry next July.

At 40,0000 miles, Clipper is the world’s longest ocean race. More than 120,000 spectators converged on the banks of the Foyle during the 2014 festival when the boats docked in Derry.

Jeannie Curran is a married mum of four, born and raised in the beautiful city of Derry, Ireland. Since early childhood, she has had a love affair with reading. Aspirations grew within her to take the huge step of putting pen to paper. Finding the time was never going to be easy when juggling a busy family life. Somehow, however, she managed to achieve what she thought was the unimaginable. The end result, her debut novel, is set in her hometown of Derry, Ireland.

Postcard Sized Artwork Exhibition in Derry

A touring exhibition of postcard-sized artworks, from artists aged 16-25, will be winding it’s way to Legenderry Warehouse No.1 20-23 November

80 pieces of work from NI and across the UK will be on display at Legenderry Warehouse No1 from November 20 – 23 as part of our UK-touring #fromsomewhereto exhibition!

The Future of Boom Hall

Derry and Strabane District Council officials are “actively engaging” with a number of other bodies with a view to developing new proposals for the Boom Hall site.

The council has confirmed that talks are taking place over a plan for the derelict stately home and surrounding area, which has been an important site locally dating back to medieval times.
